Apr 25th
Hey, Ubuntu 9.04 code-named Jaunty Jackalope is now available for download. Jaunty Jackalope for was a much awaited version of this community developed, Linux-based operating system that is perfect for laptops, desktops and servers.
Jaunty have a NetBook Remix Version for small screen devices, tested in many devices with Intel Atom Processors. Also, the Desktop Edition has been improved, it has a new notification system and a lot.
I’ve been using Ubuntu 9.04, which was upgraded from Ubuntu 8.10. I love the new changes in this version, Gnome 2.26 is the most prominent among them. Jaunty Jackalope contains the stable, cool looking Gnome 2.26 by default. It is very nice to see the integration of Brasero CD/DVD buning program with all other programs. Another is Computer Janitor; this application keep our system clean. It helps us to find and remove the packages are no more needed. Also, It will help us to change the configurations that will benefit our system.
Ubuntu 9.04 boots faster than its earlier versions, the machine booting time has been reduced considerably. It also supports the new ext4 filesystem ( I am yet to try it ! ). I am also addicted to the new small and sleek usplash screen of Jaunty Jackalope. So download, install and Enjoy..!
Ubuntu 9.04 is maintained till 2010. You can download the latest Ubuntu here
